How do I uninstall Standard Notes?

You can completely uninstall Standard Notes off your macOS, Windows, or Linux machine by following these steps:

Clear the Data Directory

1. Open the application, then press Help in the top level menu bar, then Open Data Directory.
2. Delete all files inside this directory. (You may need to close the application at this point to delete all files)

Clear the Backups Directory

1. Click on the Open Preferences icon on the bottom left of the app
2. Select the Backups from the options on the left side of the Preferences menu.
3. Under Automatic Text Backups, choose Open Location.
4. Delete all items in this directory, or move them to another location on your device.

Once the directories have been cleared, you can proceed to uninstall the app by deleting the application file for macOS, the AppImage file for Linux, or running the uninstaller for Windows.
